Honors in Economics

Students who want to earn honors in economics for a BA or BS in economics (including economics/business dual majors) must complete a pro-seminar in economics (Econ 1700-1730) as one of their economics electives, and maintain at least a 3.5 QPA in all of their courses and a 3.5 in their economics courses.

Students who want to earn honors in the BS in Mathematics-Economics degree must complete a pro-seminar in economics (Econ 1700-1730) as one of their economics electives. The 31 credits in mathematics are replaced by the following 27 credits in mathematics: Math 0235, Math 0240, Math 04500, Stat 1151 and Stat 1152, Math 1185, Math 1530, and one additional 1000-level math course. Student must earn a 3.5 QPA in economics courses and a 3.0 QPA in mathematics courses, and maintain an overall 3.5 QPA.

Students who want to earn honors in the BS in Economics-Statistics degree need to complete Stat 1631 and Stat 1632 as two of their statistics electives, and maintain a 3.5 QPA in all courses required for the major.
