“On February 7th, 2025, Pitt’s College Fed Challenge Group attended the Fed Challenge Open House at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC. The attendees heard from Chairman Powell, as well as several other speakers analyzing the role of the Fed and giving advice for next year’s competition. Additionally, the event served as an amazing opportunity to network with recruiters and peers.
The Fed Challenge Group at Pitt participates in an annual competition hosted by the Federal Reserve System called the College Fed Challenge. Every fall, they collect macroeconomic data, news articles and research papers, discuss and analyze them, and roll them into a presentation with the goal of coming to an informed monetary policy prescription.
