Adebukola Adeleke

Adebukola (Bukky) Adeleke is a Visiting Lecturer of Economics. She received her Ph. D in Economics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2023. Her research interests span Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Applied Macroeconomics, and Applied Microeconomics, demonstrating her commitment to making meaningful contributions to pressing global challenges. With her profound knowledge, Bukky has already made her mark as a skilled educator. She has been honored with prestigious awards, including the “Most Valuable Professor Award” from the University of Pittsburgh’s Volleyball Team, the “Outstanding Graduate Teacher Award” and the “Graduate Student Teacher of the Year Award” from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Beyond academia, Bukky brings a wealth of industry experience as a former Banker, where she excelled in financial advisory and portfolio management focusing on small and medium businesses, as well as the middle market industry. This practical exposure to the financial sector infuses her academic insights with real-world context and depth.

Bukky is an active member of the Midwest Economics Association. She remains steadfast in her commitment to advancing teaching and research making a lasting impact on the academic community.
