Shirley Cassing is Senior Lecture Emeritus in the Department of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh. Before retiring she was the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies. Her research interests include applied econometrics and food and agricultural policy. She has been a visiting lecturer at Australian National University and also served as an economic consultant in Indonesia and Vietnam. She published several articles in professional journals including Ecometrica, Biometrika, Review of Income and Wealth, etc. Since retiring in 2016 she continues to live near Pitt’s campus and enjoys traveling with her husband and dog, and spending time with her family and friends.
